This tall round tank was originally the sludge treatment tank of the Linjiang Creek Sewage Treatment Plant. It stands 28 meters tall, is 13 meters deep underground, has a maximum diameter of 10 meters, and a unit volume of 8,500 cubic meters—imagine how huge it is. After the sludge treatment tank was "retired," the authorities aimed to promote "waste recycling" and enhance environmental awareness. Yichang's Landscape Center invited students from the Three Gorges University Art College, who spent three months using three-dimensional painting to incorporate elements of the Yangtze River—Yangtze River dolphins and Chinese sturgeons—into the tank.

The main sculpture (15 meters long, 9 meters high, and 3 meters thick) — the inscription sculpture of the Yichang Great Retreat—is designed with numbers and iron anchors, using a reinforced concrete framework, covered with red granite shallow relief. The sculpture reflects on the "Yichang Great Retreat," which occurred during a critical moment for national survival from October to November 1938.

7.Monet-like scenery on the Yangtze River | Canal Park

Between Dongshan Avenue and Chengdong Avenue in Yichang City, there is a city riverside park called Yichang Canal Park, covering about 113,600 square meters. Originally, it was 12 abandoned fish ponds. Planning began in 2008, and it was completed in 2013. The authorities utilized the fish ponds as "water purifiers," using native ecology as a construction concept, planting about 18 species and over 12,000 tall trees, such as Chinese tallow, Cinnamomum camphora and triangle maple.

The park features many artificial landscapes, such as wetlands, forests, boardwalks, corridors, and pavilions, leaving a lasting impression.
